Interventional Pulmonologist, Sleep Physician & Allergy Specialist in Lahore

Dr. G. Sarwar Chaudhry is an Australian-trained pulmonologist, sleep physician, and allergy specialist practising at Australian Polyclinic in DHA, Lahore. He brings over a decade of international clinical experience to the diagnosis and management of respiratory, sleep, and allergic conditions, combining Australian evidence-based standards with accessible care for patients in Pakistan.

Training and Qualifications

Dr. Chaudhry hails from Lahore and graduated from King Edward Medical College in 2005 before travelling to Australia for specialist training. He worked across several tertiary care institutions and, in 2016, was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in General Medicine, followed by a dual fellowship in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine. In recognition of his ongoing clinical leadership, he received Fellowship of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP) in 2021.

He continues to hold a consultant physician position at a tertiary care hospital in Newcastle, NSW, Australia, alongside experience in private specialist clinics and private hospitals during his time there.

Leadership and Professional Membership

Dr. Chaudhry held leadership roles within the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ) from 2015 to 2018. He is a member of TSANZ, the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST), the European Respiratory Society (ERS), the Pulmonary Hypertension Society of Australia and New Zealand (PHSANZ), the Internal Medicine Society of Australia and New Zealand (IMSANZ), and the World Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (WABIP). He has presented his research at both Australian and international conferences.

Clinical Interests and Areas of Expertise

Dr. Chaudhry’s clinical interests span:

  • Airway diseases — asthma, COPD, and bronchiectasis
  • Interventional pulmonology — bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, and pleural procedures
  • Lung cancer and nodules — assessment and diagnostic workup
  • Sleep medicine — breathing-related sleep disorders including obstructive sleep apnoea, respiratory failure during sleep, and other sleep disorders
  • Pulmonary function testing — execution and interpretation of complex PFTs
  • Allergy diagnosis and management — assessment and treatment of respiratory and airway-related allergic conditions, including allergic rhinitis and asthma with an allergic component, using a structured approach to allergen identification and long-term management planning

His combined training in respiratory medicine and allergy means patients with overlapping conditions — such as allergic asthma or allergy-driven chronic cough — are assessed and managed with both specialties in view, rather than being referred between separate providers.

Philosophy of Care

Dr. Chaudhry is committed to providing internationally benchmarked, evidence-based care to patients in Pakistan, applying the same clinical standards he practises to in Australia. Outside the clinic, he enjoys cycling and trekking.
